Mzuzu: Broadcast journalist, Winnie Mhango Mwafulirwa has quit her career in journalism to concentrate on ministerial work as prophetess.
Mwafulirwa, worked as a Radio Presenter at African Bible College (ABC) Radio and Mzuzu Catholic Diocese’s Radio Tigabane in the City.
She later had a short stint with Malawi Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) at its Kaning’ina Studios in Mzuzu.
Malawi News Agency (Mana) spotted an advert on her Facebook page calling upon people to patronize her ‘Faith in God Ministries’ at Chasefu Township for worship, word of God, healing and deliverance every Saturday afternoon.
Mwafulirwa said in an interview Friday that she will no longer practice as a journalist in order to concentrate on running her ministry.
I have now dedicated my full time to ministry with the objective of spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ to the world, she said.
The 28-year-old added that besides preaching the gospel of Christ, her ministry, which was launched on June 30, 2018, will be supporting needy students and providing counseling to marriages.
Apart from spreading the gospel, we will also be helping needy students in terms of school fees and we will be holding marriage seminars aimed at bringing peace in marriages, she said.
Mwafulirwa, who is married to a banker, with a daughter between them, said her ministerial skills date back to her school days when she was a dedicated member of Students’ Christian Organisation of Malawi (SCOM).
I have always had interest in serving God and winning souls to Christ that is why when God called me into ministry, I could not resist.
I understand that being in full time ministry is not easy, but besides my husband’s support, I am an enterprising woman who does some businesses which will help to sustain us, she said.
Mwafulirwa has a diploma in journalism from the Malawi Institute of Journalism.
