Chavula to cut new album in July

Lilongwe, As government is trying to promote Malawi music, one of the reggae female artists Tamanyawaka Chavula will cut a new album in July.

Ivory Coast based musician confirmed in an interview with Malawi News Agency (Mana) Wednesday that the new album has 10 tracks.

Am working on new projects and this year I will release hot album which will represent Malawi internationally, she said.

Chavula added that in 2016 she represented Malawi at Reggae Sunsplash Festival which was held in South Africa where many reggae artists from; Jamaica, Namibia and Zimbabwe performed.

I performed with international reggae artists, and I got a new skill which will be shown in the new album, she said.

Chavula bemoaned the tendency of discouraging and looking down on female reggae artists.
