Blantyre: As the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) Malawi prepares to close its financial year in September, 2018, plans are at an advanced stage for its 7th Annual Marketers
Conference which is set to take place from September 13th to 15th at Nkopola Lodge in Mangochi.
In a press release issued on Monday (July 09, 2018), CIM Malawi board publicist, Isabel Kachinjika says each year the organization assesses pertinent issues that are taking place in the marketing field to identify topics or areas which need to be addressed during the conference with the aim of giving marketers a competitive edge in an ever evolving field.
This year, as has been the case in previous years, the CIM Malawi board has done an in-depth assessment of marketing trends and is pleased to unveil this year’s theme; ‘Marketing strategies in a turbulent environment.’
Currently, there are various forces at work that have a direct or incidental impact on how businesses operate in the country, region as well as globally. All of these factors need to be understood, anticipated and addressed appropriately to ensure the continued profitability of a business entity, said Kachinjika.
This is not a time where guess work or the adoption of old strategies can be expected to yield results. Marketers need to change the way they think about doing business to create a positive impact in their organizations, Kachinjika added.
She, therefore, disclosed that the organization was currently in discussions with various authorities on the subject matter, who would present on the various topics during the conference.
Marketers can look forward to a very exciting and interactive conference this year. Apart from the networking opportunities, they should expect to leave the conference fully equipped to make even greater contributions in their organizations using an arsenal of new methodologies and strategies, Kachinjika emphasized.
