Luanar student wins K1 million

Rumphi: A third year student from Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (Luanar) Friday won K1 million in the Bandulo Bandulo Airtel promotion.

The Rumphi based student, Nelson Mphande, who is studying a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture- Applied Economics, expressed happiness, saying the money had come at the right time.

I will invest the money I have won today in business and use some for a research project I am working on, Mphande said.

Mphande, 24, said he usually buys Facebook and standard bundles which made him win the K1 million worth of prize.

I encourage Airtel subscribers to keep on using Airtel bundles as they are fair and they will stand a chance of winning the grand price of K10 million, he said.

Airtel Zonal Business Manager responsible for the Northern Region, Gerald Kanthungo, said Airtel Malawi introduced Bandulo Bandulo Promotion to reward its customers.

We are in a campaign to encourage our customers to register their SIM cards whose cut off point is 30 September, this year (2018).

At the same time, we are encouraging our subscribers to buy bundles to enable them get our services at affordable rate, said Kanthungo during a cheque presentation ceremony.

During the ceremony, another lucky winner, Ellen Kachembere, a Health Surveillance Assistant at Rumphi District Hospital, walked away with K10, 000.

This is the fourth draw since the promotion started in August and will end on December 6 this year.
