MBC innovations awardee back from China

Blantyre: One of Malawi Broadcasting Corporation (MBC)’s awardees in last year’s Innovations Award, Ken Chilewe has arrived back from China where he was sent on a 20 day trip.

Speaking in an interview with Malawi News Agency on Thursday upon arrival at Chileka International Airport in Blantyre, Chilewe an awardee in the category of large scale entrepreneurship thanked MBC for giving him the opportunity to visit China.

During my stay in China, I came across very good entrepreneurs who started on a very low note but now they are manning multi-corporation companies, said Chilewe.

He said the trip has inspired him as a business person such that he is going to use the concepts acquired to polish up his business.

Chilewe further encouraged Malawians to work hard in all circles of life so as to make it in life.

Malawians are lazy. Our friends are working very hard in China. It’s high time we emulated that, said Chilewe.

MBC Public Relations Officer, Chembezi Mhone said as an institution, they are very proud of the innovators that have been sent to China and that their visit will benefit the country in one way or another.

So far, five innovators are back from China. We are very sure that they will contribute to the country’s development, said Mhone.

Malawi Broadcasting Corporation gives awards to some of the outstanding innovators in the country as a way of encouraging courageous and hardworking Malawians in all sectors of development.
