Mwamaso, Misanjo in a non-title bout

Lilongwe: Two local based boxers, Felix Mwamaso and Charles Misanjo will on September 30, 2018 exchange punches at M1 Centre Point in Lilongwe in a non-title bout which has been organised by Ngwenyama Boxing Promotions.

Speaking in an interview with Malawi News Agency on Monday, Patrick Ngwenyama, Manager of Ngwenyama Boxing Promotions, said all is set for the non-title bout and that the boxing family should expect fireworks on the day.

Although it is a non-title bout, we hope that it will be a serious and entertaining match between the two boxers. If we go back to their records, they are good boxers who have good records on the local scene as well as international scene, so we urge all supporters to come in their large numbers to come and witness one who will carry the day, Ngwenyama said.

The two boxers have met twice since they began the boxing career, and on the record, Mwamaso had all the two wins seeing Misanjo down in Lilongwe as well as in Mzuzu where the bout took place.

Charles Misanjo, who is also the current champion of Middleweight category who won the belt from Bright Mdoka some months ago, described the coming encounter another fight. He said he is taking it seriously despite being a non-title fight.

I know Mwamaso very well, we have been in the ring together, he won both bouts when we met, but this fight will be a different one because being a champion, it also carries weight, so my plans are to keep my championship record clean, that is why I want to win this time, said Misanjo.

On the same day Limbani Chikapa will face Limbani Powder as the main supporting bout. In other fights, Hannock Phiri will date Alexander Likande, Robert Kachiza will face Ringman Makwinja and Chimwemwe Banda will take on Duduzile Kamkwamba.
