Lilongwe: National Identity Cards (IDS) were talk of the town, when it was first announced that it would be issued to Malawians to have ID cards for the purpose of identification. It well over 11 months after the commencement of the process of issuing the IDs, many people seem not willing to collect them after being produced. Mana journalist Tione Andsen paid a visit to collection centre on Thursday at Lilongwe District Council office in Area 3. There are heaps of ID cards put on the tables and cartons without being collected months after being issued. Sources disclosed that there over 100,000 cards which are yet to be collected by owners both city and rural areas. Some of the cards are being kept in the stores.
