NGO organises Bicycle Fun Ride to fundraise for primary school

Lilongwe, Team Adventure, a local non- profit making organization in collaboration with Mulanje Cycling Club has organized a bicycle-fun ride to raise funds for purchasing desks for standard 8 learners at Chisi Primary School in Zomba.

Social Project Coordinator of Team Adventure, Taonga Mtambo said the journey will start from Chitakale in Mulanje to Blantyre, Zomba, Phalombe and then back to Mulanje on March 30, 2019 from 4:00 am.

He said in an interview this week that they have organized the activity to raise funds after discovering that there is not even a single desk at Chisi Primary School which is on Chisi Island on Lake Chirwa.

So far, we have managed to raise money for 20 plastic chairs for the teachers and now we want to raise K1.5 million to buy 25 double-seater desks for Standard 8 learners at the school, hence organisation of the activity to draw interest of other people so that they can support, he said.

Mtambo said interested Malawians are encouraged to join the fun-ride by paying K5000 registration fee while non-Malawians are required to register with K7500.

Team Adventure is a local non-profit organization established in 2016 comprising young people from all over the country who are interested in tourism, culture and natural resources.
