Mulanje, Providence Girls Catholic Secondary School students on Saturday conducted a sweeping exercise where they cleaned Mulanje District Hospital and Mulanje District Council’s offices before cheering patients with assorted gifts.
In an interview with Malawi News Agency (Mana), one of the Teachers from the School, Mercy Chisale said they decided to clean the hospital as one way of showing compassion.
As a Catholic institution under the Archdiocese of Blantyre, we have decided to do the Act of kindness during this period as we draw closer to commemorating Easter.
So, we decided to come and clean the hospital so that our friends who are sick can live in a better environment, she said.
Chisale added that, The students have also prepared some assorted gifts from the little they have to give to patience at the Hospital. We have brought items like soap and sugar to help ease their stay here as we pray for their early recovery.
