Seychelles expresses condolences to Tanzania following tanker explosion that left 69 dead

Seychelles President Danny Faure extended his condolences to Tanzanian President John Magufuli after the explosion of a tanker truck in Morogoro, which left 69 dead.

The victims are mainly onlookers who siphoned off the fuel that was flowing from the damaged truck.

President Faure said in a message: “In this very painful moment of national mourning, the people and the Government of Seychelles join me in personally addressing you, the people of Tanzania, the families of the victims and all those affected by this unprecedented tragedy, our sincere condolences.

“We are convinced that the strong spirit and determination of the Tanzanian people will serve as pillars in all efforts to restore a sense of normalcy and healing from this heartbreaking period,” the President added.

In front of the scale of the catastrophe, the president John Magufuli decreed Saturday evening a mourning of three days.
