Blantyre, Banking on the bumper harvest that the country has realized this year, Unilever South East Company is hoping for a better year in business as people are likely to have disposable incomes to spend on their products.
Unilever Malawi’s Country Director, Anele Zunga told the Malawi News Agency (MANA) Wednesday that they expect business to grow given that the operating environment is widely expected to be favorable this year with declining inflation and positive real GDP growth as published by the Reserve Bank of Malawi.
Last year was generally tough, considering the drought that affected the country, and the depressing disposable incomes. We, however, managed to marginally grow our business though below our expectations, explained Zunga.
According to the country director, with the positive outlook ahead, Unilever customers should expect a full supply of the Unilever brands they love and trust plus exciting promotions and campaigns such as; the Lifebuoy School of 5, Royco Cook offs, Vaseline health skin matters and lots more.
Unilever is a utility manufacturing company best known for products like Blue Band, Omo, Lifebuoy, Sunlight and Vaseline which according to the director contribute to over 50 percent of their sales.
