3839 IDs Remain Uncollected In Migori

Migori residents have been asked to collect their National Identification cards (IDs) from their respective Sub Counties to enable them to access national services on the Ecitizen platform.

Migori County Principal Registrar Ms Julia Otieno while speaking to KNA at his headquarters’ office in Migori town said that 3,839 IDs remain uncollected across the County.

Migori has nine registration centres including Huduma Centre where the highest number of uncollected ID cards lies.

‘Our Huduma Centre has 1,796 ID cards uncollected with Suna East Sub County having the least number, 14 in total, of uncollected cards.

Ms Otieno urged the County residents to collect their IDs from their respective designated collection centres to ease the limited spaces available at the registration centres.

‘These are very crucial documents and I do not understand why the residents can just abandon the national document that they worked hard to apply for,’ lamented Otieno.

She appealed to the local administration at the grassroot
s level and the County political leaders to help the registration office to sensitise the public on the importance of acquiring a national ID.

Julia however, appreciated the County residents who have been coming to collect their National Identification cards while urging them to encourage others to follow suit in ID collection and acquisition.
