Ethiopia Embarks on Rural Corridor Development with Vision to Transform Country, Says PM Abiy


Adilo: Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has announced a national initiative focused on rural corridor development, aiming to transform Ethiopia. This announcement was made through his social media platforms, highlighting the government’s commitment to this expansive vision.



According to Ethiopian News Agency, Prime Minister Abiy launched the rural corridor development project in Hamido Kebele, situated in the Adilo District of the Nebata Zone, Central Ethiopia Region. During his visit, the Prime Minister met with a model farmer who exemplifies the initiative’s goals by maintaining a clean and healthy homestead. This farmer is also involved in the ‘Bounty of the Basket’ initiative and practices vegetable and fruit cultivation within his compound.



The Prime Minister emphasized the need to replicate such commendable efforts across other regions through collaborative initiatives. Additionally, community-driven projects are underway to transform Mount Hambaricho, a natural landmark in the zone, into an eco-tourism destination. The construction of 777 climbing steps has enhanced accessibility, providing a unique opportunity for tourists interested in hiking and birdwatching.
