Guiba Hosts the Start of the 7th Stage of the Tour du Faso


Guiba: The commune of Guiba hosted the start of the seventh stage of the Tour International du Faso on Thursday, AIB observed on site. The town in the Zoundweogo province welcomed authorities who officially flagged off stage 7 of the 36th Tour du Faso, covering a distance of 71.63 km from Guiba to Garango, at 10:00 AM. This edition of the race includes participants from Burkina Faso and nine other countries: Ivory Coast, Mali, Togo, Cameroon, Ghana, Morocco, Benin, Niger, and Belgium. Three national teams are representing Burkina Faso: the A team, the Central Regional team, and the Western Regional team.



According to Burkina Information Agency, this competition reflects the resilience and vigor of sports in Burkina Faso, despite ongoing security challenges. The Burkina Faso National Lottery is sponsoring this edition. Paul Daumont from Burkina Faso, who currently holds the yellow jersey, is seen as the favorite to win this stage due to his performance and the support he has received.



Stage 6, which took place yesterday, saw cyclists travel from Ouagadougou to Po over a distance of 144.2 km, and was won by the Belgian Timmy De Boes.
