A nine-year-old girl was on Sunday allegedly raped by a 24-year-old man at Gcugcuma village in the Kavango West Region.

According to a crime report issued by the Namibian Police Force (NamPol) on Tuesday, the incident occurred around midnight when the suspect allegedly entered the victim's room and had sexual intercourse with her.

The suspect was arrested and police investigations are ongoing.
