Mayor Adanech Abiebie Shares Meal for Needy People During New Year Holiday


Addis ababa: On the occasion of the 2018 New Year holiday, Addis Ababa Mayor Adanech Abiebie shared a meal with needy people at the Amudi Feeding Center. During the meal-sharing event, Mayor Adanech extended her New Year’s wishes, emphasizing the administration’s commitment to supporting the city’s vulnerable residents.



According to Ethiopian News Agency, the mayor stated that the city administration is organizing similar meal-sharing events at 26 feeding centers throughout the capital. These events are part of the city’s efforts to celebrate the holiday with those who are most in need. “We have joyfully spent the New Year in unity with our beloved and respected vulnerable citizens,” the mayor expressed.



Lideta Sub-City Chief Executive, Leliti Gidey, thanked Mayor Adanech for attending the meal-sharing event in her sub-city during the New Year celebrations. She noted that the event showcased the administration’s respect and dedication to the city’s residents.



Beneficiaries of the feeding center, including Tadesse Fanta, Askale Gashaw, and Sherefa Kader, shared their happiness at spending the holiday with Mayor Adanech Abiebie. They expressed hope that the New Year would bring peace, love, cooperation, and unity.
