Addis Ababa to Host 14th Pan African Lawyers Union Conference


Addis Ababa: Ethiopian Federal Advocates Association announced the 14th annual Conference of Pan African Lawyers Union (PALU) will be held in Addis Ababa from October 16-19, 2024.

PALU, Established in 2002, is the premier continental forum of and for lawyers and lawyers’ associations in Africa. It aims at reflecting the aspirations and concerns of the African people and to promote and defend their shared interests.

The 14th annual Conference of PALU will be held in Addis Ababa from October 16-19, 2024.

Over 300 participants drawn from Africa and other parts of the world including bar associations continental and international advocacy organizations as well as the representatives of African Union and UN agencies are expected to attend the four days conference.

In his Media briefing, the international organizing committee coordinator and the vice president of the African Bar Association, Tewodros Getachew said holding the conference in Addis Ababa will make a positive contribution to the process of moderniz
ing Ethiopia’s legal system.

Members of PALU are lawyers, professionals and institutions from various areas of legal practice and professionals that adhere to our vision of seeing a united, just and prosperous Africa, built on the rule of law and good governance.

PALU brings together the continent’s regional and national lawyers’ associations, and over 1,000 individual lawyers.
