Washington: The White House has announced a series of nominations for significant government positions, which have been sent to the Senate for confirmation. These nominations include both domestic and international roles, highlighting the administration's efforts to fill crucial posts across various departments and diplomatic missions.

According to The White House, Leslie Becera from Virginia has been nominated to serve as an Assistant Secretary of Transportation. Justin Bytheway from Utah is slated to become the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Kingdom of Tonga. Marc Dillard from Virginia, a seasoned member of the Senior Foreign Service, has been nominated as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to both the Republic of Madagascar and the Union of the Comoros.

Michael Doyle from Pennsylvania is nominated to join the Occupational Safety and Health Review Commission, with his term set to expire in April 2031. William Flens from the District of Columbia is nominated for the ambassadorial post to the Republic of Chad, while Natasha Franceschi from California is nominated as Ambassador to Nicaragua.

The nominations also include Steven Gillen from Virginia for the Ambassador position in the Kyrgyz Republic and Charles Goodman III from Florida for the Togolese Republic. Keith Heffern from Virginia is lined up for the role of Ambassador to the Gabonese Republic.

Dennis Kirk from Virginia has been nominated to be the Inspector General at the Department of the Interior. Mary Lazare from Florida is set to become the Assistant Secretary for Aging within the Department of Health and Human Services. Jessica Long from Virginia is nominated as Ambassador to the Islamic Republic of Mauritania.

Further nominations include Peter Lord from Florida for the Republic of Benin and John McIntyre from Texas for the Republic of Malawi. Julia Nesheiwat from Florida is nominated to the new position of Ambassador-at-Large for the Arctic, while Nutan Patel from California is nominated for Cabo Verde.

Michael Rigas from Virginia is nominated for two terms on the Board of Directors of the Export-Import Bank of the United States, with one term extending to January 2027 and another reappointment lasting until January 2031. Danielle Thumann Severs from North Carolina is nominated for a five-year term with the Federal Communications Commission starting in July 2024.

Robert Stebbins from New York is nominated as Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the United States International Development Finance Corporation. Loren E. Sweatt from Virginia is reappointed to the National Mediation Board for a term expiring in 2029.
